Servus & welcome to Viscri 32: Restored saxon home and Slow Food transylvanian gastronomy.
The Blue House at Viscri 32 was built in 1912 by Johann Dootz and his family on the foundation of an older Saxon house. In 2016 we started the restoration and reconversion process into a gastronomic and ecotourism destination, which includes 3 buildings: a traditional house and two barns, one of which was converted into a restaurant.
The three buildings were renovated under the guidance of architect Cristian Kiss from Cluj-Napoca and contain 5 rooms for rent with individual bathrooms and authentic furniture. During the restoration, local craftsmen did an amazing job in rebuilding the missing elements and restoring the existing pieces. The rooms comprise a range of organic textures: carved wood, handmade brick, manufactured tiles, painted ceramics and terracotta to create a warm, natural and authentic Transylvanian ambiance, with a twist of contemporary comfort.
